In addition to the announcement, Sega has shared a behind the scenes video where the famous DJ talks a little about Sonic and the concert.
Sega continues to commemorate Sonic the Hedgehog‘s 30th anniversary. In addition to announcing Sonic Colors Ultimate (which is out now) and announcing that a new title starring the blue hedgehog is in development, the Japanese company has announced a virtual concert starring Steve Aoki. In addition to his songs, he will play different mixes of Sonic the Hedgehog tracks.
Rave with Sonic and Steve Aoki
The Behind the Scenes video below informs us a little about what we can expect to see during the event, in addition to sneak previews of the DJ’s Sonic soundtrack mixes. Sega also goes into detail on what we may expect to see throughout the simulated performance.
“Set in an immersive, digitally created Sonic universe, this one-of-a-kind concert will transport attendees to iconic locations such as the Green Hill area, the Chemical Plant, and many others, as they dance to their favorite Sonic the Hedgehog tracks in the purest style of electronic dance music,” Sega said.
“Estimated to last 60 minutes, the concert will feature original songs by Steve Aoki, as well as remixed versions by the artist himself of some of the fans’ own favorite Sonic tracks, from the 16-bit Mega Drive console era to the present day,” they add.
The Steve Aoki x Sonic virtual concert will be streamed on Sonic’s YouTube and Twitch channels on November 30 at 12:00 pm PST / 3:00 pm EST.
