Alice: Madness Returns is a sequel to American McGee’s Alice, a game that I have always wanted to play but never did.

So when I saw that Alice: Madness Returns was available to play on EA Play through Xbox Game Pass, I jumped at the chance. This is a third-person action-adventure based in the world of Lewis Carroll’s Alice Adventures in Wonderland novel. You can think of this as Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland if you gave Alice a knife and jacked up the violence.

I’m only a couple of hours into the game so far, and I am enjoying the experience. It’s different in a good way. So I thought that I would share the first thirty minutes of my playthrough to give you a sense of what the game is like.

This was first released on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It’s almost ten years old now. Although it is a bit rough around the edges, it looks quite good playing it on my Xbox Series X. Check it out below:
