There will be a slew of surprises, including cameos from the stars of the Lord of the Rings films and more!
The team behind No Kid Hungry has revealed their most ambitious effort to date. On Friday, November 26, they will host an unofficial Lord of the Rings marathon in Minecraft called What About First Breakfast? The stream will benefit the No Kid Hungry Foundation, which is working to alleviate hunger among homeless and poor children in the United States.
Another worthy charity stream
In this 24-hour marathon, we will live a Minecraft reconstruction of several moments from Lord of the Rings in a map made in the image of the stories that author J. R. R. Tolkien showed us in each of the fantasy novels of this amazing saga.
This stream includes hundreds of bespoke monster and character models, original voice acting, donation-triggered events, and combat in Helm’s Deep that will pit ImpulseSV versus 30 Twitch fans.
The marathon’s high point will surely be appearances by Lord of the Rings cast members. Sarah McLeod, who played Samwise Gamgee’s girlfriend Rosie Cotton, will join the livestream for an hour to answer community questions and play along with ImpulseSV.
Tune in to the 24-hour broadcast at 12pm EST on November 26. Every dollar donated can help connect kids to 10 meals. So if you want to help kids through the foundation, visit the event’s Tiltify page to watch and donate. And who knows? Maybe we can expect a few surprises along the way. It’s worth checking out if you’re a hardcore LotR fan!
